Suitcase of Survival Training is a creative and active learning programme that raises awareness of the Holocaust and promotes individual resilience. It has been developed in partnership with educationalists, theatre makers and with the invaluable support of holocaust survivor Zdenka Fantlová. It is a flexible approach that can work in schools and community settings and adapt to different age ranges.

This educational programme takes Zdenka’s personal story as inspiration to explore how you can develop your own emotional survival kit. Through a range of creative, physical and active exercises we look at what makes people resilient and how building personal resilience can help individual and group development. Using artistic and drama based approaches the participant gets an opportunity to reflect on their own lives, explore their own decision making and value systems and develop themselves as active citizens.
Key educational areas and personal life skills are explored in the programme including:
Raising awareness and educating about the holocaust from the perspective of a survivor
Group and individual working
Decision making
Positive thinking
The importance of sharing with and listening to others
Identity
Active citizenship
